Ginette Mongeon - Music Director

Ginette has been singing her whole life. She was very fortunate to have incredible support through the school system, particularly from Madame Jacqueline Coté-Seguin. She has performed as a soloist and chorister with many choirs throughout the years, The Porcupine Choristers with Dorothea Mascioli and The Timmins Choral Society under various conductors for 10 years.  She was also a member of Le Choeur du Nord during its existence and was part of a five member group called Les Baluchons. This group was made up of her sister, two brothers, André Bisson and herself. She has attended many workshops both locally and out of town  based on singing for individuals and also for choristers and conductors.

Her musical interests led her to volunteer for the Porcupine Music Festival de musique for 10 years. Ginette was president of the organization for 2 years. Having competed in the festival in her youth it is a cause which is dear to her heart.

Her other interest being theatre, she has had leading roles in Oliver, The Sound of Music and Lend Me a Tenor. She was musical director for Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat and A Christmas Carol.

She has studied theory, harmony and history with Pierrette Rendulic-Carriere and studied practical vocal studies with Marion Harvey-Hannah in Sudbury.

Her dream was to have a performance group to perform in Timmins and area. As founder and musical director of the Northern Harmony Singers this dream has come to fruition.
